Risk Control will host virtual trainings for transportation employees as the 2026-2027 school year gets underway. They are intended for school transportation personnel, including both those driving daily routes and those driving for athletics or activities.

Beyond the Bus Stop Crash Response and Keeping Your Bus Secure will be offered on both Tuesday, July 28, from 7-10 a.m. and again on Tuesday, August 4, from 7-10 a.m.

This three-hour training will include two 90-minute sessions with a 10 minute break between.

Session 1: Traffic Crash Response: Beyond Prevention
Equip school bus drivers with clear, practical guidance on what to do after a traffic crash occurs. The course focuses on immediate actions, decision-making, communication, and documentation that protect students first while also reducing liability exposure, insurance impacts, and long-term consequences for drivers and districts.

Session 2: Appreciating Physical Security Requirements
Help school bus drivers understand the essential physical security measures that should be in place at school bus facilities and parking lots, and how those measures protect vehicles, students, and personnel. The course reinforces why strict adherence to policies and procedures by every driver is critical to preventing unauthorized access, reducing risk, and maintaining a secure transportation operation.

These trainings will be presented by Bret Brooks, senior consultant for Gray Ram Tactical, LLC.
